News!

Lots of people want to know what's going on...but I haven't spilled it just yet cause it's not 100% official.

Here's some hints...
1. Oct 21st will be a big day of change
2. I'm looking for a transfer!
3. It's going to involve some much colder weather
4. Great skiing!
5. We're very excited
6. This has been a dream of mine since I was about 22!

San DIego

Yes...another weekend out of town! It's almost getting to be to much. But we're home next weekend.

We had a great weekend. On Friday I learned that two of my photos from Thailand won awards at the fair in the Pro category. On Saturday we went to Del Mar to enjoy the afternoon at the horse track.








Then on Sunday I compete in my 1st duathalon. I told Dave I'm not really expecting to do great I just want to go an experience it this time. He did not like that attitude and told me ...no you're there to do your best. Well..I placed 2nd in my age group and 7th overall female! Sweet, huh.









So it appears we may have some big news to share later on this week. So stayed tuned.

Denver!

So last weekend we were in Denver, CO. I've never been there in the summer, but I loved it. If there is one city in the US that screams Michele...it's Denver. Trees, grass, lots of outdoor space with trails for running and biking, reasonable temps, and huge mountains in the background. I can totally see us living there at some point.

So Saturday we wended up touring the Coors Brewery and seeing Green Day at the Pepsi Center. But before that we wandered around Littleton, CO including the historic downtown area. We walked around and enjoyed some homemade rootbeer.

What's Up

- Last weekend I second shot a wedding up at mammoth! Seriosuly who could resist photographing a wedding in the beautiful sierra mountains! I have photos on the blog (www.micheleschankerphotography.com/blog)

- Trying to get lots of little things done around our house that should have been done like years ago

- Flying out to Denver tomorrow

- Entered 5 photos into the Pro category at the fair this year. The guy who took my photos said as I walked away "…BTW you did really well on those". Sweet.

- Next weekend I am doing my first duathalon. Its in San Diego at 7am. Guess we'll be getting up super early.

- Then we're going to seattle for Labor Day weekend to visit some friends.

Feelin Anxious

I have this completely anxious feeling and just can't shake it. I really just wish I knew exactly what was coming in the near future. I hate not knowing. It's hurry up and wait right now.

We are flying out to Denver next weekend. So I'll be out there Friday night, Saturday, and most of Sunday. I've never been to Colorado in the summer, but I'm sure I'll love it. probably won't want to come back. Did you know that Colorado has more breweries per capita then anywhere else in the US.

Mammoth Festival

Just wanted to share a few shots from bluesapalooza.

We spent this weekend in Mammoth! On Saturday I got up bright and early, got in the car, drove down to Twin Lakes and snapped some photos with the reflection of the mountains in the water. Then I wandered some more. I think I could do lots of early morning shooting up there. But who couldn't in such a beautiful location! Here is some of what I got.



















Then it was back to the condo to chill before going to bluesapalooza. We had a lot of fun at the festival. On Sunday we did a small little hike to a lake. Well, I called it more of a walk. I just can't consider these short things as hikes.
